Child Mental Health Support And Medication Management

At our pediatric office, we understand that emotional and behavioral health is just as important as physical health. To better support our families, we offer in-office therapy for children and families, making care more accessible, coordinated, and comfortable.

Mental health concerns in children can sometimes go unnoticed, especially as they overlap with normal developmental changes. More and more children and teens are facing challenges like anxiety, depression, and attention difficulties—and we’re here to help you navigate them with care and compassion.

Our Role In Mental Health Care

As your child’s primary care provider, we are often the first step in recognizing emotional or behavioral concerns. We screen for common issues such as:

  • ADHD
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Behavioral or mood concerns
  • School-related difficulties

We take the time to listen closely to both you and your child, working to understand what’s happening at home, at school, and socially.

When Medication May Help

Medication is sometimes an important part of treatment. When appropriate, we carefully evaluate, prescribe, and monitor medications while working closely with therapists, families, and specialists.

We will discuss:

  • The goals of treatment
  • What to expect
  • Potential side effects
  • How we’ll monitor progress and safety

Medication is often one part of a larger plan that may also include therapy, school support, and family strategies. On-time identification of psychiatric disorders in children is essential for effective treatment.

Working Together with Specialists

Comprehensive Support & Care Coordination

We believe mental health care works best when it’s connected and collaborative.

  • In-office therapy for children and families

  • School collaboration with social workers and support teams

  • Community resources, including Perform Care

  • Specialty collaboration with the New Jersey Pediatric Psychiatry Collaborative for medication guidance

  • Behavioral health connections with outpatient, intensive, and inpatient programs

For children discharged from inpatient or intensive programs, we help bridge care with medication management and close follow-up while awaiting psychiatry appointments

Ongoing Monitoring and Support

If your child starts medication, we’ll see them regularly to monitor:

  • Changes in mood, sleep, appetite, or school performance
  • Growth and development
  • How well the treatment is working

At our clinic of child mental health services near you, we’re committed to walking alongside your family, every step of the way.
